Century Casino Caruthersville, formerly Lady Luck Casino Caruthersville, is a 21,000 sq ft (2,000 m2) riverboat casino in Caruthersville, Missouri. It is owned by Vici Properties and operated by Century Casinos. The riverboat is named City of Caruthersville and is permanently docked at a 37-acre (15 ha) site that also contains an enclosed pavilion that is used to host various events.

In 2005, the casino generated $28 million in revenue and $7 million in profits.[1]

The casino opened on April 28, 1995 as Casino Aztar.[2] It was built by Aztar Corp. at a cost of $55 million.[3]

Aztar was acquired by Columbia Sussex in January 2007. Columbia Sussex, unable to obtain a casino license in the state, immediately put the property up for sale and threatened to close it down in order to preserve the takeover deal with Aztar.[4]

In 2007, Isle of Capri Casinos purchased the casino from Columbia Sussex for about $45 million.[5] Casino Aztar Caruthersville was re-branded Lady Luck Casino Caruthersville on June 10, 2008.[6] Isle of Capri was acquired by Eldorado Resorts in 2017.[7]

In 2019, Eldorado sold the casino, along with two other properties, to Century Casinos and Vici Properties.[8] Century bought the casino's operating business for $12 million,[9] while Vici bought the land and buildings for $67 million and leased them to Century.[10] Century stated that the casino would be renamed as Century Casino Caruthersville, and that they might purchase a small neighboring hotel.[11][12]

CAPE GIRARDEAU and CARUTHERSVILLE, Mo. (KFVS) - Century Casinos in Cape Girardeau and Caruthersville will reopen on Monday, June 1.

Patrons will notice a few changes as they enter each gambling location.

In the lobby, thermal cameras have been installed to detect signs of a fever. Anyone with a temperature above 100.4º will not be allowed to enter the business.

Guests are also encouraged to wear a face covering.

Safety measures are in place on the casino floor.

Some gaming tables and machines will have barriers in place to protect guests and employees.

Hand sanitizing stations have also been placed throughout each casino.

Patrons are asked to practice social distancing and smoking or the use of tobacco products will not be allowed in some areas.

Casinos in Missouri were ordered to temporarily close on March 17 due to the COVID-19 crisis.
